At LVCmag.com, we are all about the real woman, right? So when we came across handbag designer Leslie Pozen, we couldn’t have been more thrilled to find someone so in line with our mission – let alone, so talented!

Pozen knew from an early age she wanted to be a fashion designer. That dream came further into fruition when she was accepted into Chicago’s International Academy of Merchandising and Design back in 1991. Soon began selling clothing soon after.

Yearning to create a product that was more expressive, she stumbled upon making purses just two years ago. Symbolizing life, freedom and femininity, Pozen’s handbags are more than an accessory, they are works of art.

Currently running her show out of Chicago, Pozen continues to create vibrant and original work that lets every woman’s individuality shine. From purses to wristlets, totes to clutches, baby bags to messenger bags, her artful combinations of color and texture make for a very robust product line. There truthfully is something for everyone – even my mother who custom ordered her own  ellu “micro tote” this summer.

ellu handbags are hand cut, hand sewn and ultra-durable. All hardware is made from strong silver and the linings are reinforced. Plus, each bag comes with a slew of versatile and functional features, finally giving women the option to add some serious style to their everyday bag.

Another guiltless perk of purchasing one of Pozen’s bags is that it’s an environmentally conscious thing to do. Pozen manages to reduce her carbon footprint by using reclaimed and restructured fabrics, remnants, and contemporary textiles for her purses.

And if you really want to make a difference, you can purchase a bag from her special “ellu.5” line, where 50 percent of the proceeds from five unique bags per month are donated to “Spirits of the Earth,” a charity that helps poverty-stricken families in Peru. Pozen is especially tied to the country because on one of her past travels there, she discovered the ancient term “ellu,” which means “the shining one,” giving her company – and her dream – an identity.

Let Pozen empower you with a new look. Visit ellubags.com  and use the special discount code “savellu20” to score 20 percent off your purchase.
